Reel-to-Reel Tape to MP3 and Digital Conversion
We’ve been transferring reel-to-reel audio tapes for over 22 years. Our business actually started as reel2reel2cd.com, focused entirely on reel-to-reel tape conversion and cassette transfers. We know these tapes inside and out. We transfer all tracks, both sides, and all head configurations—if it’s on your reel, we’ll capture it.
You can have your audio transferred to MP3, WAV, or CD. MP3 or WAV files can be delivered on a USB flash drive (you can send your own or buy one from us for $10) or sent by digital download. If you choose CD, we’ll print whatever you want on the disc. Include any special instructions in the box with your tape and we’ll do our best to follow them exactly.
Turnaround time is usually 2–3 weeks, depending on the size and complexity of your order. While we don’t guarantee an exact due date, we work quickly and carefully to get your reel-to-reel tapes digitized the right way.

Walk-In Convenience
No appointments, no drop boxes, no surprises. Just walk in during business hours and hand your reel-to-reel tapes directly to us — in person. Or order online and mail us your tapes via USPS Priority Mail.

We’re not working out of a back room or home office. We’re your neighbors right here in Huber Heights — part of the Dayton area — and we’re open Monday–Friday, 9–5, and Saturday, 10–1.

Volume and noise adjustments included
Once your tapes are digitized, we adjust the volume levels and clean up hums and noise the best we can without changing the overall recording.

Clean heads & Great Equipment
Before running your tape, we're sure the heads of the deck are cleaned. We will repair and fix at no extra cost to you. Currently, we are using a Pioneer 707 with very low miles.

Smart File Naming
Instead of random filenames, we label your files using dates or details written on your reels when possible.

Your Digital Output Options for 8mm Film Transfers
You can choose to get your audio as MP3 or WAV files on a flash drive, audio CD, or as a digital download. One output option is included with your reel-to-reel transfer. Want more than one? It’s just $2 extra per reel for each additional output type.
Flash Drive
Take your audio anywhere. Send your own flash drive or buy one from us for $10. Easy to use on most computers, car stereos, and smart speakers. Only one drive is needed per order.
Digital Download
We’ll email you a secure download link for your audio files—no account needed. It’s fast, simple, and included with your reel-to-reel transfer. You can even share the link with family or friends.
CD
A classic way to listen and share. These are standard audio CDs, playable in most CD players. Each disc comes labeled with your family name or any custom text—included at no extra charge.
Common Questions
Do I get my reel-to-reel tapes back?
Yes, your original films will be returned to you after the transfer.
Do I pay up front?
Yes. However, if any of your reels are blank or can’t be transferred, we’ll refund your card immediately. No hassle.
Do you ship me a box?
No. We keep things simple — just drop them off or ship them using packaging you already have.
If I mail in my tapes, how much is return shipping?
$12.00 flat rate. We’ll return your originals along with your completed transfers.
What are your walk-in hours?
Monday–Friday: 9 AM – 5 PM Saturday: 10 AM – 1 PM No appointment needed.
